As the summer season starts to wind down, I’m turning my attention to transitional dressing pieces that I can wear now through the next few months. The weather isn’t blistering hot, but it’s not quite fall which means I can play with light layers, closed-toe shoes, denim, and jackets. In short, this is my absolute favorite time to get dressed—here are a few things I’m picking up to complete this in-between season’s outfits.

Adult Jorts

I have spent the last three years in a cycle of buy and return, buy and return in search of my perfect jean shorts and friends, I’ve finally found them. This isn’t the time for a demure, very mindful joke, but the viral phrase does perfectly describe what I love about the AG Nolan: the longer inseam and wide cut through the thighs.

Something Suede

This Madewell bag is the answer to two thoughts I’ve had recently: Remember when the bucket bag was the must-have bag shape? And should I get something suede for fall? This under-$200 purse could do the trick.

Another Bag Trend Worth Trying

Longchamp may be well known for its Le Pliage line, but I wouldn’t sleep on their leather goods. This east-west bag is so cute and allows you to tap into the designer trend at less than $700. Not cheap, but worth the money!

Trusted Clogs

Sure, it’s kind of giving chef or, maybe nurse, but I absolutely love the Boston EVA Birkenstock, especially in white. The lightweight material is great for the season, traveling, or post-workout, and will look very cute with baggy jeans or the aforementioned adult jorts.

Investment Loafers

It’s no secret that I’m extremely obsessed with the new Bally. Creative director, Simone Bellotti, continues to design pieces that incite an extreme urge to purchase but also affirm a deep certainty that I’ll have them for a long time (who knew clothes could do that, right?)

Anything COS

There’s an incredible amount of good stuff at Cos right now that I can’t help but share. I shouldn’t be looking at another trench coat, but if you are, how about this one for $350. I can never say no to a set of mismatched earrings (and pearls are making a comeback so these are perfect!) or a striped T shirt, so it’s no surprise this one made the list too!
