I’m Training for a Half Marathon—This Is the Gear I Swear By
Scroll on if you're a runner.

Friends! I’m five weeks into a half marathon training block with a 15k on deck for Saturday morning, so I’ve got running on my mind. 2025 marks my running anniversary (runniversary, if you will), and every training block brings me new thoughts, testing opportunities, gear, and gadgets I’m excited to talk about. Here’s what I’m into this time around.
SUPPORTIVE SHOES
I deal with bouts of plantar fasciitis, so I’m super cognizant of the shoes I’m wearing for each exercise. Recovery runs and extra mileage days call for a sneaker that’s ultra cushiony. I leave my flatter shoes for strength training days.
HARDWORKING CLOTHING
Common running advice suggests that you dress for ten degrees warmer than the actual temperature, to account for your body heating up as you progress through the run. I’m on a big oversize cotton T-shirt kick, at the moment, paired with leggings or bike shorts that don’t budge.
RECOVERY GADGETS
We did it! We got out there and ran the miles. Now it’s time to rest, recover, and prepare for another go-around. These are the gadgets and gear I always rely on to get me ready again.
Anatomy of an Outfit
MONDAY:
For a quick flight back from North Carolina, I went with my usual travel uniform. This time, I swapped out my travel duffle bag for a smaller old faithful.
TUESDAY:
Filmed a television segment (more on that in a few weeks!) and then it was straight to the office for meetings, meetings, and more meetings
WEDNESDAY:
Gucci tapped Yara and Keri Shahidi to throw a private luncheon celebrating Mother’s Day, so I stopped by before heading to the office.
THURSDAY:
Ralph Lauren held its fall 2025 fashion show at a gallery downtown. I always like to wear the designer to its show, if possible, hence the preppy cable knit sweater.
