The 5 Best Things I Bought, Tried, and Tested Throughout March
From hydrating lip oils to cult-classic sneakers.

Friends! As March wraps up, I’m feeling reflective. I started this month still very much in the thick of fashion week (and by week, I mean month)—zipping from Milan to Paris and back to New York in the span of two weeks. But now that things have calmed down, I’m thinking back on products I loved and sharing them with y’all today.
THE LIP OIL I COULDN’T STOP TELLING MY FRIENDS ABOUT
I have a mountain of lip products in my apartment right now, but this lip oil right here?! Fenty Beauty did their big one. Hydrating and glossy (but not sticky!) with just a hint of color. Chef’s kiss!
THE TECH GADGET THAT WOULD MAKE A PERFECT GIFT
I was extremely skeptical of these sunglasses when the first version launched a few years ago. I found them to be too heavy to be a part of my rotation and couldn’t fathom why I’d need all this tech sitting on my face. That is absolutely not the case with this latest edition. In fact, I fell in love straight away. The camera is incredible (proof here), the speakers in the arms are great for taking calls or playing music, and the tech is so simple that even the biggest luddite could learn how to use them in 10 minutes.
THE SUPPLEMENTS THAT ACTUALLY DID SOMETHING
The post-fashion month flu is real and I’m convinced I didn’t get it because I took four of these capsules everyday while I was on the road. The mix of nutrients like vitamin A, beta-carotene, vitamin D, and zinc kept my system humming even though I was sleep deprived and packed in rooms with other sneezy and snotty folks.
THE CULT CLASSIC SHOE I’M SO EXCITED WAS RE-RELEASED
Split-toe shoes are polarizing, but it should come as no surprise to real friends of the newsletter that I’m obsessed with the Nike Air Rift. Originally released in 1996, Nike dropped a bunch of new colors earlier this month and I was lucky enough to snag a black leather pair. And to answer a couple of FAQs about this kind of shoe: No, they don’t hurt, and I wear these socks with them.
THE TRENCH COAT. PERIOD.
It really is that good! Look at how three MC editors are able to style it. Cute, right? Do yourself a favor and snag it before it sells out. As you all know, I have the khaki version, but I’m kind of coveting the green style, too!
Anatomy of an Outfit
MONDAY:
I spent most of the day working from home, but eventually battled the rain to preview a new launch from Gap’s creative director Zac Posen. The capsule collection is chock-full of elevated staples (like cropped button-down blouses, khaki sailor pants, and swingy tennis-inspired dresses) at prices just slightly more than the current Gap pieces you love. That’s about all I can say about it at this moment, but stay tuned for more on the collection in a few weeks.
TUESDAY:
Not much to report on Tuesday—a regular day of meetings! Love when that happens!
WEDNESDAY:
Christian Louboutin and chef Laila Gohar hosted a fabulous dinner at Chez Marguax to celebrate the launch of Louboutin’s new fragrance, Fétiche La Rose, so the day required an outfit that would feel dressy enough for an industry event but not too over-the-top for the office.
THURSDAY:
Lots of running around the city—from my apartment to the office to a meeting with the founder of Aligne, Ginny, then back to the office. Finally, I ended the evening with a very fun dinner for Balmain hosted by creative director Olivier Rousteing. I clocked more than 16,000 steps in this outfit (similar selects below) feeling put-together yet totally comfortable.
