Sabrina Carpenter Wears Capri Pants and a Bustier to Hard Launch Her New Album
The songstress put her own sultry twist on the look.
Love them or hate them, capri pants are cycling through fashion’s trend cycle once again, and they’ve already gained approval from some of the most stylish A-listers. Among stars like Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, and Sarah Jessica Parker, pop star Sabrina Carpenter is the latest celebrity to take this polarizing trend for a spin.
On Saturday, Aug. 24, Carpenter stepped out for dinner to celebrate the release of her latest album, Short n’ Sweet, which is swiftly rising in the charts. For the occasion, the “Please Please Please” singer slipped into a pair of black calf-skimming capris that undoubtedly caused several jaws to drop.
Though the capri pants of yore had a more modest appeal, Carpenter put a modern twist on the style. Instead of denim or Spandex, she choose a black pair in a saucy, mesh fabric (from New York-based label Guizio).
To no surprise, the singer teamed her cropped bottoms with a fitted bustier (the lingerie staple has become a signature in both her on-stage and off-duty wardrobes). This time around, her corset du jour featured gingham accents, subtle lace details, and a deep, navy blue colorway.
As for accessories, Carpenter finished her look with a pair of embellished kitten heel mules, a cream-colored handbag, and a bouquet of fresh flowers.
Though the return of petal pushers has been hotly contested among the fashion set, I think everyone would agree that Carpenter's see-though take is a stylish one. Shop more daring iterations of the trend, ahead.
