I Crafted the Perfect Spring Capsule Wardrobe With These 20 Nordstrom Sale Finds
Discover styles as low as $27.

Call me crazy, but I’m already in the process of building my spring capsule wardrobe. Eager to swap my hefty coats and chunky sweaters for breezy T-shirts and lightweight dresses, I’ve turned to one of my favorite shopping destinations. I’m talking about none other than Nordstrom, which has a thorough selection of spring-ready essentials that deserve a prime spot in every closet.
Best of all, the beloved retailer is hosting a major sale that you simply can’t miss. While perusing Nordstrom’s site, I discovered a slew of styles up to 60 percent off. Some of my favorite finds include a white poplin dress from ASTR the Label for $55 and a pair of Jeffrey Campbell ballet flats for $72. I even spotted Madewell’s coveted wide-leg jeans, which dropped in price from $138 to $100.
While there are hundreds of styles to choose from, I somehow managed to pare down my wishlist to 20 basics that I plan to wear all spring long. Lucky for you, I’m offering up a sneak peek inside my shopping cart. Ahead, discover a hand-picked list of capsule wardrobe must-haves. If you see something you like, I’d suggest you act quickly. Nordstrom’s major sale only lasts until Monday, February 17th.
I’m a firm believer that there’s no such thing as owning too many white button-down shirts. This one from COS features an oversized silhouette that offers up a nice and roomy feel.
As we begin to transition into spring, you’ll want to invest in a trusty trench coat to keep warm. Lauren Ralph Lauren’s version is undeniably functional and equally stylish (take a look at the classic sharp collars and belted waist).
This isn’t your ordinary white dress. Crafted with an elegant off-the-shoulder design and a flared shape below the waist, this graceful piece stands out among the rest.
Maritime-inspired styles might be one of spring 2025’s biggest trends, but Breton-striped garments will forever stand the test of time. Pair this nautical cardigan with white linen pants and boat shoes to really take the sailor look up a notch.
Jeffrey Campbell’s ballet flats are stitched with a soft leather lining and a cushioned sole, so you can certainly count on them for comfort. You’ll wear them for hours on end—don’t say I didn’t warn you.
When the weather isn’t cold enough to pull on a puffer, but it’s not warm enough to bare your arms completely, consider a sturdy denim jacket. Favorite Daughter’s option offers enough coverage, without being too overbearing.
Expand your assortment of little black dresses with this prim and proper number. Style it with a pair of kitten heels and subtle hints of gold jewelry, and you’ve got yourself an easygoing outfit that you can put in a heavy rotation.
Some style experts are championing the revival of skinny jeans, but I’ll be sticking with wide-leg denim bottoms until further notice. With a spacious construction and a high waistline, Madewell’s Perfect Vintage jeans have just what I’m looking for.
More than anything, a loose-fitting white T-shirt embodies the term “versatile.” Whether you decide to elevate this simple top with a satin slip skirt or keep things casual with baggy jeans, the styling options are truly endless.
It girls everywhere are wearing sweater vests, and now it’s your turn. If you’re not opposed to a preppy outfit, layer this pullover with a collared shirt and hop into a pleated skirt. Finish off your look with loafers styled over socks.
In the face of colder temperatures, pair your cute spring outfit with a rugged barn jacket. Mango’s alternative embraces a fashion-meets-function appeal with a front clasp closure and flap pockets.
Bermuda shorts are back—but did they ever really leave? I’d argue that they never fell out of style. These thigh-grazing bottoms have always offered a reliable alternative to micro mini shorts. If you prefer the style of a longer hem, look no further than this option from Free People.
Sam Edelman’s penny loafers are beyond elegant. The lustrous leather exterior and hardware charms give these shoes a sophisticated edge. Try out these slip-ons and prepare to receive endless compliments.
As someone who loves vintage-inspired clothing, it’s no surprise that I’ve fallen head over heels for this lady jacket. I’m partial toward the ecru shade, but it’s also offered in red, brown, and black.
Want to know one of my go-to spring outfit formulas? A black top and a white skirt. It’s a streamlined uniform that never fails to get the job done.
Round out your assortment of spring work outfits with a double breasted blazer that boasts a “she means business” attitude. With a neutral shade and a simple silhouette, this jacket will match with just about any pair of bottoms. Dressing for the office just got a whole lot easier.
Whether you’re looking to layer it beneath a shirt or wear it as a stand-alone piece, a black tank top is a closet mainstay. And for $27, I’ll take two, please.
As a devoted trouser wearer, I’ve been on the hunt for new slacks to style for spring. Thanks to this pair from Open Edit, I think I just found my match. I love how the creased exterior adds an added touch of dimension.
There’s no denying that a floral dress is a capsule wardrobe staple for spring. This one caught my eye because it’s drenched in a delectable shade of butter yellow (which is still trending by the way).
Lean into a sporty look with Reebok's classic leather sneakers in a brilliant shade of white. As someone who owns a pair myself, I can confirm that these shoes definitely live up to the hype. But don’t just take my word for it—thousands of reviewers have given these trainers a stellar rating for comfort and quality.
