They’re beyond easy to style.

Take a peek into my wardrobe, and you’ll quickly learn that I favor minimalism when putting my outfits together. That’s not to say that I’ve never stepped outside the style box (I’ve tried my fair share of maximal accessories—like sky-high chunky sandals, bold ‘80s jewelry, and statement-making handbags). But for the most part, I prefer to stick with the essentials for ease and practicality.

If keeping it simple is your style ethos, this edit is for you. I’ve just curated a mood board of straightforward looks to streamline your warm-weather wardrobe with outfits from one of my favorite retailers, Nordstrom. You’ll be pleased to know that Nordstrom is still hosting its annual Anniversary Sale alongside its regular sale (which means that all the handpicked items you’ll find below are currently reduced in price). And best of all? Each outfit that I’ve created falls under $275.

As you prepare for your next vacation, don’t forget to pack an airy linen set.

There are a few non-negotiable outfits that have earned a prime spot in my travel capsule wardrobe, one of which is a white linen set. Wearing breezy garments from head to toe is the best way to deal with insufferable summer temperatures. Do just that by styling Rue Sophie’s button-down shirt with Open Edit’s flowy bottoms and complete the look with Cole Haan’s slides crafted with sumptuous leather.

On the Clock

Invest in a work outfit that will get the job done.

I commute into the office three times a week, which means that I rely on a straightforward rotation of office-friendly outfits. This classic blazer-and-trousers look has never failed me. I’d suggest you follow suit with Nordstrom’s oversized blazer and Anne Klein’s floor-sweeping trousers. For your top, choose Halogen’s sophisticated short-sleeve shirt.

For the Flight

Not sure what to wear on the plane? Refer to this look for style inspiration.

Wherever you’re jetting off to this summer, make sure to prioritize comfort while you travel. Look no further than Good American’s soft scoop neck shirt and Spanx’s stretchy leggings to provide a cozy feel. Throw an extra layer over your shoulders just in case you get chilly and stuff all your carry-on essentials into a spacious travel purse.

(Almost) All-White

You might already have several all-white outfits in your closet, but why not add another to the mix?

Since we’ve reached the hottest days of summer, I’ve been gravitating toward all-white outfits that will keep me cool. Most of my monochromatic looks consist of T-shirts and matching shorts, but I’m planning to switch things up a bit with this halter top from Mango and this denim midi skirt from Rails. I’ll sneak in a pop of color by way of Nordstrom’s cherry red Mary Janes.

Out and About

You can never go wrong with a black maxi dress.

If you’re booked and busy every weekend, you’ll need an outfit that will keep up with your hectic schedule. You can count on an uncomplicated black summer dress with a calf-skimming hemline, like this one designed by Avec Les Filles. Dress it up with Jeffrey Campbell’s Persona kitten heels and JW PEI’s sculptural handbag.

A Trendy Serve

You don’t have to be an athlete to wear a tennis skirt.

The fashion crowd has spoken, and apparently tennis outfits are winning the game of trends by a landslide. Serve up an athletic-inspired look with a sweater vest teamed with a pleated skirt (you’ll find these pieces at Madewell and Spanx). You could opt for sneakers, or you could give your look a preppy spin with Steve Madden’s Mistor loafers.

Off-Duty

Keep this outfit top of mind for days when you’d prefer not to expend any energy worrying about what to wear.

Piecing together this outfit doesn’t require a lot of effort, which is exactly why it falls right into the off-duty category. Bring this relaxed look to life with a sharp tailored vest from Open Edit and a pair of straight-leg jeans from Mango. To give this look an undeniably cool edge, cover your eyes with Marc Jacobs’ shades.

A Seamless Transition

This is the sort of outfit that I can (and will) shamelessly wear on repeat.

While my days are mostly spent typing away at my desk, my evenings are often filled with work dinners, happy hours, and sometimes even late-night press previews. These moments call for pieces that have a transitional appeal. AllSaints’ Deri Lyn Blazer, Madewell’s Carpenter Skirt, and Schutz Avery sandals all fit the bill.

Keep It Simple

It doesn’t get much more basic than a white T-shirt and jeans.

I stumbled across Mother’s baggy jeans and I knew instantly that I had to have these billowing bottoms. As for styling, I’ll take notes from the street style photo above and I’ll pair these denim pants with a tee from Faherty and white sneakers from Vagabond Shoemakers.

On the Go

I've just found your new favorite outfit for running errands. You're welcome.

There’s nothing wrong with throwing on a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie to run errands, but sometimes I want to look polished while on the go. For that very reason, Top Shop’s striped button-down top and rag & bone wide-leg pants are going straight into my shopping cart. I’ll also snag Treasure & Bond’s tank top to wear as an extra layer.
