Botkier is Back
First there were bags. Now there are shoes. It's a natural evolution. Beloved bag-designer, Monica Botkier has the cutest shoes for Spring.
Capitalizing on the cult status of her Botkier Bags (come on you've seen them slung over the sinewy shoulders of Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan, Heidi Klum, Kate Bosworth and Angelina), fashion-photographer-turned designer Monica Botkier, is launching an extensive collection of footwear.
Just like the bags, Botkier's shoes have the same bold hardware, wearable colors, and fine Italian craftsmanship we've come to love. The inaugural shoe line consists of nineteen different styles ranging from flats to sky-scraping stilettos. Eye-catching—yet tasteful—metallic ornaments, snakeskin nudes, royal blue and fuchsia-stained leathers are also in the mix.
Consider the edgy ballet with dew-drop hardware and, mod peep-toe booties—perfectly named "Hot Mama." For a less "Louboutin" look try the "Sloane Horseshoe Sandal," which features completely original metalwork attached to curvy black straps. So sexy is this shoe, wearers swear it incites fetishes.
Another favorite is the "Ginger Metallic Ring Flat." With hammered gold, you might expect these on the soles of Aphrodite herself. Yet, casual and comfortable, you'll likely throw them on with shorts and a white-tee.
Shoes and just about everything Botkier (bags, belts, and little leather things) are available at Barney's New York, Fred Segal, Harvey Nichols and Neiman Marcus boutiques nationwide. Of course you can always find what you're looking for online at botkier.com.
