I’m Copying These Street Style Outfits I Spotted at New York Fashion Week
They're low-effort and high-impact.

During New York’s Fall 2025 Fashion Week, designers embraced a spectrum of aesthetics in their collections. Styles ranged from Sandy Liang's trendy Y2K maximalist metallic midi-skirts to Rachel Scott of Diotima's flapper-inspired crochet dresses. But the spotlight wasn't only on the runways; the street-style outfits outside deserved and received just as much praise.
Scattered throughout the snow-dusted sidewalks of Manhattan, savvy showgoers dressed in clothes that showed off their personal style. Unlike some fashion week outfits that are so eccentric that they're virtually unwearable, this crop of street-style looks demonstrated a refreshingly approachable attitude. One attendee wore a decadent cherry red barn jacket with a neutral two-piece set that offered a touch of practicality. Another styled a loud luxury-inspired animal print coat with subtle separates that balanced it out with more of a pared-down approach. The common theme was that each getup championed a strong sense of balance.
Inspired by these easy-to-replicate uniforms, I curated an assortment of street-style outfits that I can’t wait to copy. After you scroll through this list, I’m sure you’ll want to recreate these looks for yourself, too. Discover 13 outfits that deserve a spot in your cold-weather wardrobe. Many also check the transitional weather box, so they’ll be useful as we enter spring.
The Cherry on Top
Complete your look with a bold barn jacket that will make heads turn.
This fashionista put a vibrant twist on the barn jacket trend by opting for a saturated cherry red alternative. If this style piques your interest, follow suit, keeping the rest of your outfit subtle so that your coat can do the talking.
Bundle Up
When the weather is too cold to bear, try a puffer coat that blends fashion and function.
While puffer coats often have a casual reputation, this quilted layer pictured above feels undoubtedly elevated. To stay warm and stylish, wear a similar option alongside a cozy sweater and a pair of parachute pants that offer plenty of coverage.
Pretty in Pink
Some trends come and go, but the girlhood aesthetic is here to stay.
The girlhood aesthetic is alive and well, and this season’s street style pros proved just that. Lean into the dainty look with a pink satin slip skirt, a polished zip-up cardigan, and a pair of pointy kitten heels. Pick up extra style points by topping off your look with a knit headband and a textured handbag.
The Unconventional Add-On
Instead of styling your sweater beneath your jacket, try wearing it as a top layer.
These days, fashion folks are tying their sweaters over their coats (it’s an innovative styling hack that will make you look effortlessly cool). If you don’t believe it’s practical, think again—a soft sweater can easily cosplay as a warm cashmere scarf.
Ready to Ride
No street style wardrobe is complete without a sturdy leather jacket—and that’s a fact.
Channel your inner biker girl by way of a sumptuous leather jacket cinched at the waist with an embellished belt. In the mood to amp up the rugged vibe? Slide into a pair of chunky moto boots that boast an edgy vibe.
Low-Key Luxury
It’s giving old money, with a modern flair.
If you're wondering how to put together a rich-looking outfit, this elegant uniform has all the answers. Aside from the brooch-adorned coat, it’s the T-strap leather shoes and perfectly stitched designer handbag that really infuse this look with sophistication,
A Sweet Treat
Ask any style expert about the most coveted color of the moment, and they’ll utter the words “mocha mousse.”
Shades of mocha mousse is poised to dominate this year’s color trend cycle. Get ahead of the style by dressing yourself in a delicious brown color palette.
Far From Basic
Here’s how to upgrade a streamlined uniform.
A black leather jacket paired alongside straight-leg jeans is a very familiar outfit formula that many of us know and love. However, this look elevates the classic combination with a dramatic leather layer that features an oversized hood and a wrap-tie closure.
A Winning Outfit
Step up your style game with a striped rugby top.
Rugby shirts are on the rise and you don’t have to be an athlete in order to wear one. Give this sporty top a delicate treatment with a midi skirt, a small shoulder bag, and a pair of satin slingback heels.
Against the Grain
Don’t wait for temperatures to rise to pull on a white outfit.
A true trendsetter knows that in the game of fashion, sometimes you have to abandon the rules, which means you can wear white jeans whenever you want.
On the Go
Planning to be on your feet all day? Consider an outfit grounded in a pair of sneakers.
If comfort is your main priority, you can count on a pair of suede sneakers to get the job done. Dress up your laid back look with a pair of sleek dark-wash jeans, a crisp button-down shirt, and a refined cardigan.
Not-So-Corporate
No pants? No problem.
Swap your tailored trousers for a mini skirt to transform your work outfit from day to night. You can even embrace the no-pants trend by ditching bottoms altogether and wearing a long-hemmed shirt. Complete your look with a sharp trench coat and knee-high boots.
Wildlife-Inspired
Treat your leopard-print coat like a versatile neutral.
Opulent animal print garments ran wild during New York Fashion Week. By pairing a spotted faux fur coat with simple staples like jeans and a plain scarf, this showgoer demonstrated that there is in fact an easygoing way to approach this maximalist print.
