It's official—we're in the era of the sleek geek. From runways to the streets of NYC, fashion people everywhere have been endorsing the idea that eyewear is more than a visual aid—it's a fashion statement. This includes our fashion director, Michaela Bushkin , who's committed to tapping into this growing trend this fall.

When it comes to shopping for new glasses, LensCrafters is Bushkin's number-one pick, so she stopped by the Los Angeles location to try out some new styles. The brand has a wide selection of stylish, high-quality designer frames, but the Michael Kors styles are what caught her eye. Weeding through bold colorways and fun prints, Bushkin ultimately landed on chic, elevated frames that would match all her fall looks. To see how she styled her new specs—and learn how to master this look yourself—just keep scrolling.

"Fun fact: I got my first pair of glasses at LensCrafters over a decade ago, so it was really fun to visit the store. The selections both in-store and online are impressive—there are so many trends, styles, shapes, and colors to choose from, not to mention all the best brands, like Michael Kors. We're seeing a major shift away from wearing simple eyeglasses that sort of blend into your look. Instead, we're making them a hero element of our outfits, and I'm so here for that. I love leaning into eyeglasses as a statement accessory. I'm particularly into thick, black, square frames which seamlessly tie into any look while still standing out." — Michaela Bushkin, fashion director, branded content

"These Michael Kors glasses feel like the type that would become a part of someone's signature look. They're a square shape, which is pretty classic, but the thicker, oversize nature of the frames makes them a bold choice. Consider this look a sign to try out a navy-and-black outfit combo ASAP. It's such a luxe pairing, and I'll definitely be wearing it on repeat during the fall and winter months. These frames give this outfit a very cool city-girl look, which is something I'm always trying to achieve." — Bushkin

"I love the gold Michael Kors logo on the side of these glasses. It's so chic and adds an unexpected detail that's almost jewelry-like. Pro tip: Wear your hair up or tucked behind your ears while wearing these to really show off the logo. When styling this look, I knew I wanted to pair the glasses with items that also featured gold hardware, like this brown leather bag and miniskirt (it's subtle but those buttons are, in fact, gold). I go crazy for little details like that. This is the kind of outfit I'd wear on a daily basis. I love the juxtaposition of the miniskirt with the oversize denim button-down. The loafers and eyewear definitely add to the school-girl vibe I've got going on here. Do these glasses make me look smarter? Asking for a friend." — Bushkin
