Flip-flops are a lot of things to a lot of people: loud (after all, their name comes from the very sound they make); practical (especially in gym showers or after pedicures). But fashionable? That's not the first thing that comes to mind. Havaianas, however, tell a different story. Since making their U.S. debut five years ago, the 50-year-old Brazilian thongs have become the Manolos of the beach. Designers like Issa London, Missoni, and Michael Bastian have all splashed the rubber, rice-patterned soles with their prints. H.Stern even encrusted a pair with diamonds. Now, MC's fashion director and mother of two, Nina Garcia, takes a turn as designer, patterning mommy-and-me pairs in classic leopard spots. The best part? Ten percent of the sales of the collection will be donated to Baby Buggy, a nonprofit organization that provides children under the age of 12 with essential items and educational services. This Mother's Day, simply slip on a pair and start making some noise.
