How does a fashion designer build upon an already fabulous closet each season? Tibi founder Amy Smilovic gave us her tips for building and maintaining a wardrobe you'll love season to season.
"My belief about dressing is that it's done in a way that is clean, feminine, always a bit relaxed, and always functional. I think about what my uniform will be for each season and work that in to my existing wardrobe." Your uniform can be as simple as a pair of slim, cropped leather pants and a t-shirt. From there, you can add a blazer, an oversized cardigan, or a button up shirt. This way, you'll wear most of what you have in your closet, instead of searching through the few things you love.
When it comes down to the actual items every woman should have in her arsenal, Smilovic suggests, "an oversized sweater, solid silk tank, a pair of strappy sandals, a leather pencil skirt, a great pair of jeans, a boxy blazer, and a crisp white shirt. From there you can build out your wardrobe as seasons and trends change."
