Behind the Scenes at Emily Jerome's Jerome Photo Shoot
Amanda helps out her designer pal Emily Jerome by modeling for her fall lookbook in L.A.
This past weekend, I flew to L.A. to help out one of my dearest friends, Emily Jerome, with her F/W Jerome lookbook. She asked me and another one of her friends, Jessica Joffe, to model her current collection — a mix of her trademark hand-drawn, tribal prints with more sophisticated fall pieces like a classic bomber and a sequined blazer. We went to this elementary school to shoot (apparently it's also where they filmed Grease) and we shot 30 looks!
Honestly, by the end of the 12-hour shoot-day, my brain was mush. I could barely stand in those Louboutin booties, and all I wanted to do was sleep. But, I've got to say that you can't tell any of that in the pics thanks to uber-talented photog Eric Ray Davidson!
Here's Emily in her typically stylish daywear. She's got on one of her own Jerome dresses with an Elizabeth and James blazer, Bottega bag, and Chanel sandals. It's still so crazy for me to think that this girl has been my friend ever since our 2nd grade at Chapin and now she's a full-fledged, successful designer. I'm so proud of her!

My makeup. Pretty intense! I definitely don't look like that every day.

She really stuck to her roots with the references to Donald Judd, Marfa, and Native American textiles but then added a level of sophistication with the perfectly tailored jackets and skirts.
Me in one of Jerome's sequined blazers (this is the first season that she incorporated this kind of embellishment, and I think it really paid off!).
