Tomi Adeyemi Reveals Her All-Time Favorite Books in 'Shelf Portrait'
Author Tomi Adeyemi shows Marie Claire her book collection in the latest episode of 'Shelf Portrait.' Find out her favorite books and order them for yourself here.
Tomi Adeyemi, bestselling author of Children of Blood and Bone and Children of Virtue and Vengeance (the first two books in the Legacy of Orïsha trilogy) gives us a tour of her personal book collection in Marie Claire's latest episode of Shelf Portrait, where celebrities, influencers, and famous bookworms invite us inside their homes to show off their personal libraries.
Adeyemi feels like there's a movie going on her head while writing her books, so, naturally, she feels that way while she's reading them too. Her all-time favorite book is Avatar: The Last Airbender, but she's also obsessed with The Rihanna Book (yes, it's as big as it looks in the video!). Her third favorite book of all time is Sabaa Tahir's An Ember in the Ashes that Adeyemi calls "epic," considering it inspired Children of Blood and Bone. Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows is also at the top of her list, describing it as Ocean's 11 meets Game of Thrones, as well as Lupita Nyong'o's Sulwe.
Watch Adeyemi's full Shelf Portrait video, above, then order some of her favorite books for yourself, below.
