Who Is Riley Stone? Meet Emma Stone's Alter-Ego
This is Sasha Fierce all over again.
Try not to panic, but "Emma Stone" is not, in fact, Emma Stone's real name. The La La Land actress' birth certificate actually reads Emily Stone, which isn't a huge departure—but guys: her name change comes with a highly amusing story.
Turns out Emily Stone was "taken" when Emma started acting, and she was faced with the task of having to switch up her moniker.
"For a 16-year-old, picking a new name is an interesting prospect," the actress told W Magazine. "So, for about six months I was called Riley. I landed a guest spot on Malcolm in the Middle, and one day they were calling, 'Riley! Riley! Riley! We need you on set, Riley!' and I had no idea who they were talking to. At that moment, I realized that I just couldn't be Riley. So I became Emma. But I miss Emily. I would love to get her back."
Speaking of Riley, here she is in Malcolm in the Middle.
Someone please make a petition for Emma Stone to release an album titled "I am...Riley Stone" ASAP, thanks.
