Lauren Conrad Takes Over Marie Claire's Pinterest for International Women's Day
Come get your 📍 on with LC.
In case you haven't already given yourself a pat on the back, today is International Women's Day, and we're celebrating in the best way possible. Designer Lauren Conrad is taking over Marie Claire's Pinterest in celebration of both women and good style, which are obviously two of our favorite subjects.
"It is a day to celebrate the achievements of women around the world, but also a day to recognize how far women still have to go," Conrad tells MarieClaire.com. "While I think every day should be women's day, this global event creates an important space to reflect upon progress made, to call for change, and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities."
We're thrilled to be teaming up with Conrad on such an important day, and her Pinterest takeover will feature some truly gorgeous women-created products courtesy of The Little Market, an online store she created with her friend, Hannah Skvarla.
"Many people around the world still produce handmade goods using the same techniques that have been passed down in their culture for generations," Conrad says. "However, most of these artisans were only selling to a limited local market, because they lack the resources to expand their scope. With The Little Market, we hope to change that. We specifically wanted to focus on female artisans, because women around the world are still less educated, less healthy, and experiencing more violence than their male counterparts."
Head over to our Pinterest account for Lauren's faves and prepare to pin like you've never pinned before. Your support helps women around the world break the cycle of poverty and earn a fair wage.
