MC@Play with Gossip
Leading up to the release of their fifth album, A Joyful Noise, Gossip's Beth Ditto, Nathan Howdeshell, and Hannah Blilie speak candidly with Maire Claire -- and each other
Gossip's upcoming album, A Joyful Noise, sure has given us something to talk about. The fifth studio release from the trio — composed of vocalist Beth Ditto, guitarist Nathan Howdeshell, and drummer Hannah Blilie — which follows up on 2009's internationally raved-about Music for Men, already has us grooving in our seats.
We also can't think of a better group to kick off our MC @Play video series because frankly, there are few people with whom we would rather hang out. When Beth, Nathan, and Hannah spoke with MC's Sergio Kletnoy, they were candid, fun-loving, and open. It's clear that Gossip's success is in part due to the group's natural chemistry. We were more than happy to listen in as they joked about their love for — and disagreement about how to pronounce — ABBA and the first thing on their minds in the morning. More pleasure ensued as we watched them point and laugh at one another — literally.
A Joyful Noise will be released on May 22, and a European tour will follow this summer. In the meantime, check out the video for the album's first single, "Perfect World."
