It's the year of baby fever!
In 2019, some adorable celebrity babies were welcomed into the world (we're looking at you, little Archie Harrison). In 2020, we can look forward to even more babies, thanks to pregnancy announcements from celebs like Anne Hathaway, Ciara, Gigi Hadid, Chrissy Teigen, and more. There's just something about a celebrity baby that cranks up that baby fever! Maybe it's because their parents are, like, the most popular people on the planet, that they could inherit the skills their parents are known for, or just the simple fact we're obsessed with baby names here at Marie Claire.
Sometimes when there's so much excitement in the air, it becomes hard to track who we should expect to see add a plus-one to their family. That said, we made a list of all the celebrity pregnancies we're looking forward to in 2020: past and present. How else are we going to keep up with all the cute pregnancy posts? Ahead, all of the celebrity pregnant in 2020.
Mandy Moore and Taylor Goldsmith
The This Is Us actress announced she and husband Goldsmith are expecting their first child, a son, together.
"Baby Boy Goldsmith coming early 2021 💙," the mom-to-be wrote on Instagram.
Kevin Hart and Eniko Parrish
Hart and his wife Parrish are welcoming their second child together. Eniko announced the exciting news on Instagram on March 24. She captioned the photo, "Baby #2 in the midst of all of this we’re counting our blessings and couldn’t be more grateful! Soon to be a family of 6 #glowingandgrowing."
In May, they announced their new bundle of joy would be a baby girl.
Usher & Jenn Goicoechea
Usher and his longtime girlfriend Jenn Goicoechea are expecting their first child together. "Usher's very excited to be a dad again," a source told People. "They're both thrilled to be expecting." The couple hasn't announced when their bundle of joy will arrive yet.
Chrissy Teigen & John Legend
The couple announced their new bundle of joy in John Legend's music video for his new song "Wild." Throughout the video, we get tons of sexy shots of the couple, but the last couple seconds of the video was the real zinger.
Their two children, Luna and Miles, enter the frame just as Chrissy goes to hold her stomach, and then the screen fades to black! She confirmed the news, as only she would, in a tweet. Here's to baby number three!
Nicki Minaj & Kenneth Petty
In an Instagram post on July 20, Nicki Minaj announced she was pregnant with her first child with her husband, Kenneth Petty. The news comes less than a year after she announced her intention to retire from music and focus on her family. "I've decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me … Love you for LIFE," she wrote on Twitter.
Joaquin Phoenix & Rooney Mara
While the private couple hasn't announced the news themselves, Us Weekly confirmed in May that Her actress Rooney Mara is around six months pregnant with their first child. "Joaquin is great and has been accompanying her to appointments," a source told the publication.
Emma Roberts & Garrett Hedlund
Keeping up with the secrecy here (which we're totally cool with), according to Us Weekly, the Scream Queens actress is pregnant with her and Garrett Hedlund's first child. The two have been dating since March 2019.
In January 2020, a source told Us Weekly that the couple wasn't that serious. “They are not talking an engagement or marriage at the moment,” the source said. “They like hanging out and going out together, and their relationship is more fun than serious.”
Ryan Murphy and David Miller
The American Horror Story creator revealed he and his husband David Miller are expecting his third child in June for an essay in Architectural Digest. "I feel an attack of color and Legos and bright Magna-Tiles coming on. We are expecting another baby, a boy, in August."
On Instagram in September, Murphy announced that their son Griffin Sullivan Miller Murphy was born.
Romee Strijd & Laurens Van Leeuwen
The Victoria Secret model announced that she was expecting a baby girl with her boyfriend of 10 years in May after struggling with polycystic ovary syndrome.
"I'm so happy and grateful to say that I got my period back last November AND that WE'RE SOON A FAMILY OF THREE ❤ ❤❤❤," Strijd wrote in a lengthy post on Instagram. "To the women trying to conceive, believe in yourself and be nice for yourself and your body and don't let those thoughts get to you to much 😚."
Jude Law & Phillipa Coan
In May, Jude Law was spotted walking around London with his wife since 2019, Philipa Coan, who was proudly sporting a baby bump. This will mark Coan and Law's first child together. The couple has yet to announce the news.
"He and Phillipa are blissfully happy together and delighted to add to their family," a source told the Daily Mail. "Everyone is really excited for the new arrival."
"It's really wonderful," said Law on The Tonight Show in September revealing Coan gave birth to their child. "We feel pretty blessed that we were in a time where we could, as a family, just nest and enjoy each other's company and every day as it came."
Vanessa Morgan & Michael Kopech
The Riverdale actress announced she was pregnant with her husband of six months, Chicago White Sox pitcher Michael Kopech, in July. In an Instagram slideshow, she announced the couple's new addition.
"I am overjoyed to be welcoming my baby boy into the world this January," Morgan wrote. "It's almost like everything I thought mattered in this life has completely changed...We're here for such a greater purpose, and life is so precious."
Just days after the announcement, it was revealed by The Chicago Tribune that Kopech filed for divorce on June 19 while at home in Texas. A representative for Morgan told People that Kopech is the father of Morgan's baby.
Gigi Hadid & Zayn Malik
Supermodel Gigi Hadid and former One Direction member (still not over it, TBH) Zayn Malik are expecting a baby girl. TMZ leaked the news on April 28, and stated she was about 20 weeks along in her pregnancy.
"Gigi has kept the secret close to her family and friends for a while, as she's only a few months along," a source told Entertainment Tonight. "Once Gigi and Zayn got back together at the end of last year, it was like they never skipped a beat and knew what they had was special. The couple and their families are overjoyed."
They announced the birth of their baby girl on September 23 via Instagram.
Ciara & Russell Wilson
Ciara announced her pregnancy news on Instagram back in January with a photo of her in a bikini that that revealed her growing belly. The new baby boy will be a younger brother to siblings Sienna Princess Wilson and Future Zahir Wilburn.
“They’re so excited to expand their family,” a source told People. The couple welcomed their son Win Harrison in July.
Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom
Perry broke the news in her music video for "Never Worn White," after months of hiding a growing belly from fans. "It's probably the longest secret I've ever had to keep," she said in an Instagram Live. "I thought I would tell you guys in the best way through a piece of music."
The singer also broke the news on Instagram in April that the couple would be expecting a baby girl. Their daughter Daisy Dove Bloom was born in August.
Leighton Meester & Adam Brody
The super-private parents to daughter four-year-old Arlo Day were spotting April 1 taking a walk around Los Angeles. It was like any regular walk, but Meester was visibly pregnant! The pair hasn't commented on the status of Meester's pregnancy yet.
Brody confirmed their son was born on Twitch in September during Hold the Phone TV's The Fun Time Boys Game Night Spectacular. "I have a new kid. Since last I played, I have a new kid," said Brody. "I have a boy, and he's a dream. He's a dream boy."
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner
JustJ ared reported early February that Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are expecting their first child together. In May, Turner was photographed visibly pregnant.
"The couple is keeping things very hush-hush, but their friends and family are super excited for them," a source said to the outlet.
While multiple sources confirmed the news with the outlet, the couple themselves have yet to confirm the announcement is true. They welcomed a baby girl, Willa, on July 22 in Los Angeles, according to reports from Just Jared.
Penn Badgley and Domino Kirke
The You star and his wife since 2017 are expecting their first child together after enduring two miscarriages. "You’re already teaching us how to stay in the day in a way we’ve never had to, little one. Thank you," she wrote in an Instagram post while announcing the pregnancy early February. The pair welcomed a son in September.
Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross
The "Pieces Of Me" singer and her husband Evan Ross are expecting their second child together.
"I think being pregnant is so beautiful, she told Redbook."Maybe I was just lucky, but I had the best pregnancy, and I loved giving birth. It was just the most amazing thing, so surreal, but so real."
The new addition to the family will join four-year-old sister Jagger Snow, and 11-year-old Bronx Mowgli, whom she shares with ex-husband Pete Wentz.
Lea Michele and Zandy Reich
The former Glee star is expecting her first child with husband Zandy Reich after tying the knot back in March 2019. People confirmed the news with Michele at the end of April. "They’ve always wanted to be parents," a source told the publication. The pair announced the birth of their child on August 26th.
Alec and Hilaria Baldwin
Four months after suffering a miscarriage, Hilaria Baldwin announced on Instagram early April that she's expecting her fifth child with Baldwin. The video featured Hilaria's growing belly with the baby's heartbeat playing over it.
"I'll let the baby do the talking because I don't have the words to express how this sound makes us feel," she wrote. "Just got the great news that all is well and all is healthy with this little munchkin. I wanted to share this with you."
The couple welcomed their son Eduardo "Edu" Pao Lucas Baldwin on September 8.
Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger
A source close to the couple spilled the details in late April that the couple would be expecting their first child together. Pratt is already a father to seven-year-old son Jack, who the actor shares with his ex-wife Anna Faris.
The couple got married in Montecito, California, 10 months ago. Sources told People that the newlyweds were excited to "expand their family as soon as possible."
Schwarzenegger gave birth to their daughter, Lyla, in August.
Felicity Jones and Charles Guard
The Oscar-nominated-actress and her film director husband, Charles Guard, are expecting their first child. The couple married in July 2018 after three years of dating at the Sudeley Castle in the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire. The news was confirmed by People after Jones showed up to the premiere of The Aeronauts in December 2019.
While it's unsure when the baby was born, the Star Wars actress was seen pushing a stroller in London early September.
America Ferrera and Ryan Piers Williams
On New Year's Eve 2019, the Superstore actress shared the news that she and her husband, Ryan Piers Williams, would be expecting a new child in the new year. "Welcoming Baby #2 in 2020! Happy New Year from our wild & growing bunch," she wrote in the post.
We can't forget to mention that two years earlier to the same day in 2017, the actress revealed that she was expecting her first child, son Sebastian. The couple welcomed a baby girl named Lucia Marisol Williams on May 4.
Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd
In October, the "Girl" singer took to Instagram to announce she and husband Ryan Hund would be welcoming their first child together, a son.
"The irony is just too rich that after a year of living in the 'GIRL' headspace, the universe would give us a baby boy to even things out," she captioned the post, referring to her 2019 album Girl. "See you in 2020, little one."
The couple welcomed Hayes Andrew Hurd on March 23.
Chris Noth and Tara L. Wilson
Mr. Big's family is getting bigger! In September, the actor revealed he and his wife, Tara L. Wilson, were expecting their second child. The couple had their first child, Orion, in January 2008. "Orion is getting a brother—I better get my ass in shape," North said in an Instagram post.
The parents welcomed son Keats on February 19.
Iskra Lawrence and Philip Payne
The model and body positivity activist and her boyfriend, Philip Payne, announced they'd be first-time parents this year. In an Instagram post, the duo posed for photos holding a pregnancy test announcing the news. "It’s not just the two of us anymore, we're soon to be a family of 3," the caption said. Aww!
The parents welcomed a son on April 16.
Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson
While it was speculated whether or not the newly-married couple was expecting, photos of the couple running errands in L.A. revealed that Turner-Smith's pregnancy was absolutely a thing. The couple tied the knot in December 2019 after a year of dating. They welcomed a daughter together on April 21.
Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins
The country singer and his wife announced they were expecting a third child in an Instagram video of a gender reveal that included pink smoke. "Excited to share that I will now be paying for 3 weddings," the artist joked in his caption. The parents, who met in the first grade, have two other daughters, Willa Gray and Ada James.
The pair welcomed daughter Lennon Love to the family on February 10.
Ashley Graham and Justin Ervin
After celebrating her ninth wedding anniversary with her husband Justin Ervin, supermodel Ashley Graham announced her first pregnancy via Instagram on August 14. In November, while appearing as a guest on The Ellen Show, the model revealed that she will be having to a baby boy who should be arriving in January.
The pair welcomed their son on January 18.
Quentin and Daniella Tarantino
The three-time Oscar-winning director, and his wife, Israeli actress and pop star Daniella Pick, announced they were expecting their first child together. "Daniella and Quentin Tarantino are very delighted to announce that they are expecting a baby," the couple said in a statement.
The couple has been together since 2016. They married in Los Angeles in 2018 after Once Upon a Time in Hollywood filming was finished.
On February 22, they welcomed a baby boy.
Chloë Sevigny and Sinisa Mackovic
Chloë Sevigny and her partner, Sinisa Mackovic, just became parents for the first time. The American Horror Story actress' rep had confirmed to USA TODAY that they are welcoming a child in the spring.
Sevigny and Mackovic welcomed their son, Vanja Sevigny Mačković, on May 2.
Milla Jovovich and Paul W.S. Anderson
The Resident Evil actress announced she was pregnant with her third child with director Paul W.S. Anderson in August 2019 in a candid Instagram post.
"Because of my age and losing the last pregnancy I didn't want to get attached to this potential baby too quickly, she wrote. "That was obviously not fun, and the last few months have been my family and I living on pins and needles waiting for a slew of different test results to come in and spending most of our time in doctors offices."
The new addition to the family will join their other two children, Ever, 12, and Dashiel, 4. The couple welcomed their daughter Osian to the world on February 3.
