Regina King Wore a Breonna Taylor Shirt for the Emmys
The shirt is still available, with all proceeds going to Breonna's foundation.

The 2020 Emmys doesn't have a red carpet this year, but your favorite celebrities still know how to make the voices heard. Just ask Regina King. On the virtual red carpet tonight, the star wore a magenta Schiaparelli suit over a "Say Her Name" t-shirt with an image of Breonna Taylor on it. It's been six months since Taylor was shot and killed eight times by police officers who forced their way into her apartment into the middle of the night—and still, no one has been charged.

This isn't the first time King has worn the shirt. She wore it in an Instagram post last month, writing, "It's been 150 days since Breonna Taylor was murdered in her sleep by Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove—and her killers have not been charged. Too often Black women who die from police violence are forgotten. Let's stay loud, keep demanding justice for Breonna and her family, and SAY HER NAME."
The t-shirt is by Phenomenal in partnership with the Breonna Taylor Foundation and can be purchased here. All proceeds from the shirt are donated to the foundation.
The Oscar-winning actress is up for Lead Actress in a Limited Series or a Movie tonight for her role as Angela Abar, a.ka. Sister Night on HBO's Watchmen. In October last year, King spoke with Marie Claire on landing the leading role in the hit series, telling us, "Sister waited until she was almost 50 to be a superhero. It's something I've always wanted to do, you know, be a woman physically kicking ass."
Crossing my fingers she wins tonight!
