Watch Sam Smith Perform #Flawless Beyoncé Karaoke
The Brit crooner did right by Music City.
A guy walks into a karaoke bar. The bartender looks up and says, "Is that Sam Smith?" Funny enough, it is — and he's a man with a prerogative to cover Beyoncé. Following a recent gig at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Smith hit local karaoke haunt Lonnies and gave patrons the show of a lifetime.
With help from his back-up singers, Smith paid the ultimate homage to Queen Bey. He began with a vivacious rendition of Destiny's Child's "Say My Name," then followed it up by harmonizing with the crowd on her fierce female anthem "Flawless." We first got a peek at Smith and crew's tendency to burst out into Beyoncé song (as we all do from time to time) in his behind-the-scenes music video for "Restart."
Now that Smith can count Bey among the artists whose songs he's soulfully mastered, we're officially hailing him King of the Cover.
