The 19 Best Perfumes of 2022 (So Far)
The scents Marie Claire editors are obsessing over.

Just like discovering and perfecting your personal style, finding your signature perfume takes time and plenty of trial and error. It often means that you spend too much time at your local perfume counter spritzing and smelling every new launch in search of the one: The fragrance you can wear day in and day out without tiring of it, until it becomes synonymous with who you are.
Still, that process can often leave you feeling like you've tried every perfume on the market. Not to mention, many people prefer to change their scents with the seasons. If you've found yourself signature scent-less and confused this year, allow me to introduce you to all of the new perfumes that have launched (or re-launched) so far in 2022. From fun, fruity blends to a few new heady floral options, this list will help you find your next new scent this year.
Make sure to bookmark this page and check back, because we'll be updating it as new products come out over the course of the next 10 months. I personally have found my new favorite scent after trying one of these, so magic can happen! And if none of the below options suit your fancy, check our list of the perfumes that launched in 2021.
Notes of golden Mimosa—the first flower to bloom along the Côte d’Azur in the spring time—blend with those of grapefruit, tuberose, and bergamot in this new fragrance from AERIN.
If you love fresh, clean-smelling scents, this one from Maison Margiela's iconic REPLICA line is for you. Notes of spicy pine needle mix with rose petal to give you a scent that smells entirely unisex and lingers on the skin (and on your clothes). I've wore it nearly everyday because the scent is so synonymous with smelling good in an undiscernible way.
A classic, reinvented. The latest edition of Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue fragrance line includes woody notes that pair beautifully with those of jasmine, lemon, and white rose.
Meet your new favorite going-out scent. At once sexy and sweet thanks to the inclusion of rose and pink peppercorn, this perfume radiates warmth from the moment you spray it on.
This scent is like summer encapsulated into a brightly-colored bottle. Fresh fig, pear, and orange blossom mingle with plum leaves and coconut for a bright, uplifting scent that smells best after some time spent in the sun.
This scent from recently relaunched brand PHLUR is the ideal meeting point between traditionally floral and fresh scents. Heady jasmine and freesia blends with bergamot and cassis leaves for a scent that warms to the skin and settles into a discreet, clean scent that last for hours.
Notes of fig, coffee, and green mandarin are designed to give you a boost of confidence while you wear this new perfume from YSL. It's an energizing take on the classic Opium fragrance, reinvented for the new year.
A part of Dries Van Noten's newly-launched beauty line, this fragrance is described as being "elegant and joyful." Base notes of musk play with top notes of spearmint for a finished product that feels uplifting and clean.
Pink Lily and passionfruit are at the heart of this new addition to Dolce & Gabbana's Dolce range. Playful and fun for warmer weather, this floral blend feels bright, too.
Wishing you could jet off to Italy? This new scent from Valentino will transport you without having to book a flight. Jasmine and rose work in tandem with electric kiwi to create a perfume that's begging to be brought on vacation.
Lovers of Viktor&Rolf's original Flowerbomb scent will recognize this new addition. Ruby accord and vanilla sit at the heart of this fragrance, promising a long-lasting scent that's instantly recognizable.
MALIN+GOETZ just re-launched their bestselling Strawberry Eau de Parfum and have made it a part of their permanent collection in 2022. It contains a mix of strawberry (obviously) over top of cedarwood, oakmoss, and jasmine.
If you like floral fragrances but worry that they can seem too "adult," this scent is from PHLUR was designed with you in mind. Citrus notes mix with jasmine and gardenia for an effortlessly cool blend.
This unisex fragrance from BVLGARI contains a blend of vanilla and oud for a long-lasting scent that lasts—and makes the wearer feel powerful in the process.
This new scent from BYREDO was inspired by the celebration of life itself. Paying homage to the traditions of Día de los Muertos and All Saints’ Day, this piercing fragrance combines musk, sage, and amber alongside a touch of iris root and incense.
diptyque's Do Son fragrance, which originally launched in 2005, is back in a limited-edition bottle. The scent itself was inspired by diptyque co-founder Yves Coueslant's childhood spent in Do Son in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. Scents of the sea are blended with tuberose, orange blossom, and jasmine.
This new fragrance from Ralph Lauren Polo is vegan and is 97 percent natural origin. It's also free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, artificial preservatives, and artificial colorants to boot. The unisex scent is comprised of seven sustainably-sourced fragrances including bergamot heart, lavender, green mandarin, Turkish rose, and Haitian vetiver.
Created to celebrate the blooming peony season that starts at the end of March, this floral scented gift set features peonies with additional notes of pink pepper, blackcurrant, and sweet candy floss.
This genderless perfume from Michelle Pfeiffer's brand, Henry Rose, is designed to show another side of the classic scent. Rose is paired with spicy pink peppercorn.
