Julia Michaels Knows the Trick to Looking Well Rested
In the latest Masked and Answered, the singer reveals how to convince everyone you've gotten a full eight hours.

Singer and songwriter Julia Michaels has been busy. Her illustrious career includes writing hit songs for celebs like Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, and Selena Gomez. She recently released a song called "Lie Like This," the first glimpse into her upcoming album. In addition to putting out cult songs, Michaels is known for her love of makeup and beauty. In the latest episode of Marie Claire's "Masked and Answered," watch the singer walk through her favorite products and talk about how to trick people into thinking you've gotten a full night's sleep.

For a relaxing masking routine, Michaels reached for some skyn ICELAND classics. For under her eyes, she uses the brand's Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels. On her smile lines, she uses skyn ICELAND's Hydro Cool Firming Face Gels, and on her neck she uses the Hydro Cool Firming Neck Gels.
Though Michaels posts some truly stunning makeup looks on her Instagram, she's really a fan of skincare. "I don’t wear a lot of makeup, but I have a lot of makeup for when I want to play around," she says in the video. Her most radical skincare treatment? "I have had quite a few extractions before, and those things hurt like nothing I’ve ever experienced. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy…Maybe I would."

Another of Michaels' go-to skincare products is the Augustinus Bader The Cream moisturizer. "It’s a little pricy but it makes my face feel really hydrated," she says. For her internal health, Michaels subscribes to Care/of daily vitamins. She also uses ice-packs as part of her morning routine. "I like to put those on in the morning when I feel really puffy. Or hungover," says Michaels. "It makes me feel like I look like I got a full night of sleep. Even though your girl only got 25 minutes."
We love a woman who has all the tricks! Watch Briggs' video above and don't forget to subscribe to Marie Claire's YouTube channel to catch up on the latest episodes of Masked and Answered and share your favorite mask in the comments.
