Why Beauty Vloggers Are Applying Foundation with (Wait for It) Bra Padding

Beauty vloggers: consistently 10 steps ahead of us normals. Take, for instance, their newest makeup-application technique—instead of those sweet little egg-shaped applicators, vloggers are now using silicone bra inserts to apply their foundation.

Inspired by the SiliSponge, the inserts (also known as chicken cutlets for their resemblance to the kitchen staple) are easy to work with, gentle on the skin, and don't soak up the product.

That last detail might be the most important, because when you're paying a pretty penny for skin makeup you won't want to waste anything. In fact, the silicone is so un-absorbent that this vlogger actually applied too much product to her cutlet, as you can see in the video.

Okay, the resulting skin-toned insert is a little creepy and gross, but another benefit is that the silicone is easy to clean. Definitely simpler than brushes and sponges, making it more likely that you'll actually do it and not leave all that nude-colored dust in there to build up.

So there you have it: a beauty hack that sounds goofy but is actually pretty smart. What will they come up with next?
