We can tell when a webshop-owner uses her boutique as a means of creative expression; from the site design to the text and, of course, the selection, some e-boutiques sing out with fashion passion. Mischelle Papan's Blondette is one of these faboo finds. Clearly a lover of emerging designers (with a hawk's eye for celebrity style picks), Papan offers gals an online shop dedicated to the newest trend-setting lines of jewelry, clothes and other accessories, and sets forth plenty of info about the designers and the celebs wearing the work. With a focus on edgy trends from both coasts, Blondette freshens its cache of labels frequently, counting among its ranks boutique favorites like Geren Ford, Adina Designs, J. Brand denim, Grace Sun and Elizabeth & James. More street style than uber-glam, Blondette's selection represents the everyday chic captured in paparazzi photos of all our favorite starlets. In keeping with her enthusiasm for cutting-edge looks, Papan makes sure shoppers get what they need, inviting queries from any gal on a mission. A fashion-news feed, trend-watch list, extensive designer bios and deep discounts add to the site's already sparkling appeal.

Beautorium.com
With the organics market growing exponentiallyand flooded with industry jargon and fancy spinonly the most stellar boutiques stand out from the fray for their organics expertise. Beautorium, a newly launched site for organic makeup and beauty products, stands apart for both its selection of goods and its excellent design. Founders Ann Francke and Barry King, veterans of the European cosmetics industry, apply their passion for organics with their knowledge of lesser-known brands to this ultra user-friendly, online eco-boutique. At the heart of Beautorium is the Good to Know Guide, a system of icons and text that reveal helpful info, like a brands philanthropic efforts; a products effective ingredients, recent awards and accolades; and exactly how an item has been certified organic. The sites full-disclosure policy is very helpful in familiarizing shoppers with new and hard-to-find brands, like Trilogy skincare from New Zealand and Martina Gebhardt creams from Germany. And to our delight, Beautorium mixes up foreign lines with already beloved brands, like Dr. Hauschka and Pangea Organics. In addition to the emphasis on super-kind skin products, this site offers aromatherapy, pre- and post-natal salves, and essential oils that all come in cute (recycled!) packaging, complete with a handful of samples and a 60-day guarantee.

If you’re like me, you have hundreds of beauty products in your
closet that you’ve never touched. (Yellow eyeliner anyone?) Here are
some hi-tech beauty gadgets that save you time and money - something we
can all use!
Safetox Beauty
Although
Botox seems to be everywhere, it still requires you to make an
appointment, go to the doctor, get briefed, do the injection (ouch),
and then repeat the process a few months later. It’s too much. Instead,
just lock yourself in your bathroom (so you won't scare anyone) and
strap this gadget to your head. The Safetox device works on relaxing,
as well as stimulating, certain muscles in your face in order to get
similar results to the big "B” – minus the needle.
Facial Center
Looking
to save a few bucks? If you head to the salon for a weekly $150 facial,
start using this baby to save some cash instantly. I've been using mine
for about a year now and although there’s no shoulder massage, you do
get great results and amazing looking skin!
Therma Clear
You
may have heard of the at-home zit-zapping systems that exist. If you
haven't, then let me introduce you to the new kid on the block: the
Therma Clear. This device uses heat and light to diminish your
blemishes with the touch of a $150 button. It's SO worth it.
LightStim
If
you've ever experienced the great results from photo rejuvenation on
your face while getting a facial, then you’ll love this. Now you can
take that same technology home with you and reduce fine lines with this
magic wand.

Women have many best friends and the list often includes one that’s
cute, cuddly, and has four legs. Show some love to your little ones
with cool gadgets with a pet twist.
Zoombak
Keep
track of your pet with this GPS location device. Attach it to their
collar and set up the virtual force field around your house. If
Clifford busts out, you’ll receive a text message that will link to a
Google-esque map which shows where your pet is hiding. Hint: This
device may also help with fishy boyfriends.
Hot and Cold Pet Bed
This
bed is amazing! You can set it to either keep your pet warm or cool,
depending on the time of year and your home’s temp. Talk about
pampering your pet!
Halo UV Vacuum
When your pet spends all day in the dirt, I bet he brings in all
kinds of tiny friends when it's time to come in. EEEEWWW! This vacuum
actually uses ultraviolet light to kill dust mites, fleas, viruses, and
more.

Sometimes an event calls for a look that strikes that elusive balance between natural and glam, edgy and sophisticated, spectacular and comfortable. Whatever the occasiona gallery opening, a surprise weekend in SoBe, drinks with a power clientOtte has something to help achieve that fashion fusion. Most items (even the few basics) are luxurious and über-hip. Burnt-orange silk pops next to airy, delicate cotton voile. Red patent leather, electric-blue felted wool and kitten-soft, stretchy gray denim are mesmerizing against the shops museum-white walls. Some of the designs and shoes are local; some are names, like See by Chloé, Ya-Ya and Raven. A day at Otte isnt the easiest on the wallet, but its not meant to beits a sartorial investment. Intermixonline.com.
A veritable holy land for fashion gods and design worshippers, Intermix tops the retail A-list with stores in a dozen cities (and counting) across the country and online. This boutiques agenda is simple: to start and further trends. Intermix takes the hassle and exhaustion out of scouring department stores for the latest concepts in style, concentrating them in a wonderland of sexy, sartorial innovation. Designers like Diane von Furstenberg and D&G hold court among smaller lines (both American and European), each piece chosen for its contribution to fashions current ideas. Intermix outfits gals for day or night, blithely throwing in a gold-sequined mini-sheath beside a green chiffon sundress, eyelet peasant top or pair of kitten-soft skinny jeans. The shops allover impact is like a red-carpet event, but these seriously special items sing out in combination with real wardrobes. True, the price tags are kinder to It girls than working girls, but Intermix proudly celebrates the flashy, confident, of-the-moment fabulousness that every closet deserves.

Shvitz. The classic Yiddish word may suggest old men sweating in bathhouse steam rooms, but step into the tiny Thompson Street leisurewear shop and it takes on a whole new meaning. And for good reason: Owner Leslie Hall wanted to sell workout wear and comfy clothes (the kind of stuff you shvitz in) with a glam edge and without the utilitarian overtones of a sportswear shop. The result? A sweetly girlie salon done up in white, silver and pinkright down to the neo-rococo wallpaper and lacy chandelierthat frankly looks straight out of Los Angeles. The clothes themselves are a comfort-lovers dream: Pile after fruity-colored pile of plush terry-cloth hoodies, super-soft tees, animal-print thermal knits and sweatpants from designers like Joystick, Juicy Couture, Primp and Rebel Yell will make you actually want to go to the gymor at least seriously consider it from the comfort of your couch. Check out the e-commerce website for a decent selection of whats available in-store complemented by inspirational pics of celebs sporting the latest styles in sweats.

Anyone shopping in Soho knows theyre in for a tour of the hottest and finest in designusually with price tags to match. Thats why a stop into Privileged, Jennifer Ondyaks recently opened boutique on Thompson Street, makes you feel just that way. Throughout the chic space, countless gold and silver clutches, bangles and earrings glitter like fireflies above racks of feminine tops and dresses from small and local designers selected by Ondyak for their creativity, wearability and value. Strapless silk cocktail numbers by Wendy Katlen and peacock-print blouses by Julie Brown hang beside soft tees, elegant jersey wraps and sweatshirt dresses by Zoe, Tart and Beautiful People. The contemporary aesthetic carries into the modest shoe selection (which includes some of affordable favorite Dolce Vitas more adventurous designs) and the diverse collection of handbags. Privileged emphasizes classic designs with a bit of of-the-moment playfulnessand the best part is that the razor-thin crocodile evening bags, saddlebag-style hobos with round pockets and dangling tassels, and fun canvas totes wont cost nearly as much as one would expect, since prices average between $100 and $200. Gold and brown python belts, Bark Jacobs shoe-shaped dog toys, vanilla ice-cream bath balls, and jumbo gem hair barrettes quench fashion cravings while leaving enough cash for a pedicure. This Manhattan treasure is truly priceless. And thanks to the online shop, non-Manhattanites can enjoy the gift as well.

One of Georgetowns premier shoe stores, sweet Sassanova occupies a tiny space covered from floor to ceiling with designer footwear. Pretty peep-toes, sexy stilettos, cute kitten heels, flirty flats and precious patent leather make this ladylike find an ultimate treasure. Back in 2003, sick of making the shoe-scouting trek to suburban department stores, owners and self-proclaimed shoe addicts Sarah Sassy Jacobs and Sarah Cannova were left with only one thing to do: open their own shoe store. Thank goodness they did. Featuring footwear from Michael Kors, Manolo Blahnik, Tory Burch, Giuseppe Zanotti and loads more, Sassanovas status as a go-to spot to treat your tootsies is well earned, and the easy-to-browse website makes everything available to shoe-fiends far and wide.
