These Two Women Will Give You a Confidence-Infusion

While they've taken very different professional paths, Tiler Peck, a principal dancer with the New York City Ballet, and Eden Grinshpan, host of the Cooking Channel's Eden Eats, have a few key things in common: They're both all about supporting other women, know that confidence is key to overcoming failure (and achieving success), and have honed their personal styles to represent their authentic selves.

"I love being a woman because I feel like I'm part of a really strong sisterhood," Grinshpan says. "There's a movement right now where women are really starting to come together, build one another, speak their minds, push themselves, and be who we should have always been and who we always have been."

Peck agrees: "Working alongside women is really empowering. I think there's nothing more important than successful women helping other women succeed. [In my industry,] we're basically a family. We're working from 10:30 in the morning until 10:30 at night, so if we're not supporting each other, literally nothing is going to get done during the day."

And, Grinshpan muses, there's a heckuva a lot to get done. "It's our time to prove that there's absolutely no difference between male versus female. We're here. We're equal. It's our time to shine. It's not about jealousy. It's not about cattiness. It's about building each other up."

Interestingly, fashion is intrinsic to their efforts. Both women realized long ago that success starts with being at ease in their skin, and yes, their clothes as well. Grinshpan says, "In any profession, self-acceptance is everything. And I feel like when you are really happy with who you are, it shows in the work that you put out there and the people you befriend in any task you do in your life. So it all starts from self-acceptance and self-love."

Peck, who favors a feminine but edgy vibe, explains, "[When it comes to fashion], I feel my best when my outfit is an extension of me." Grinshpan agrees, "I feel [my best] when I am doing the things that I love the most and wearing clothes that make me feel comfortable and happy."

One label that both women feel represents their sense of ease and self-assurance: Lauren Ralph Lauren. "I've always thought it was this iconic American brand. They're current and relevant, and I think they're for everyone," Peck says.

Grinshpan agrees. "When I think of Lauren Ralph Lauren, I think of effortless style, and as a mom and as a chef, I am very much attracted to effortless, but really classic, outfits."
