With green being touted as the new black, the phrase green glamour is no oxymoron. This sites tagline is Go green. Stay stylish. And here, thats a snap. Green With Glamour is the brainchild of two eco-minded, Chicago-bred shopping fiendsand friendsKathleen Rowan and Deana Bracken. The site is divided into three sections: Live, Wear and Give. For living, the site offers upscale, high-design pieces like adorable octopus pillows screen-printed on organic linen and stuffed with a sustainable insert; chic zebra print throws made from recycled cotton; and recycled-glass serving pieces. For wearing, find a similar mix of the modern and vintage femme, from a sexy, black 100 percent bamboo dress by Beau Soleil (the perfect travel piece) to a chain scarf top made of three vintage scarves by Super Lucky Cat, a company that repurposes previously used materials to create fabulously new designs. For giving, find the same items recategorized according to the type of gift youre looking for (home, food, edibles), plus clever gift baskets and a few mens pieces. The selection is so covetable that you can give with mindfulness without imposing on your less socially conscious friends.

Elsewares' passionate commitment to magnificent designs and the artists behind them means not only that you'll score super-cool stuff on the site, but also that you'll support independent artists and companies with a conscience in the process. Elsewares owners Ryan Deussing and Audrey Aponte scour the creative world for innovative apparel, accessories and home products from folks who practice healthy labor practices and focus on environmental sustainability. Josh Jakus' line of futuristic Um handbags is made of factory-excess felted wool; Artecnica's vases are expertly sculpted from recycled wine bottles; and new moms will thank Kee-Ka for their unbleached organic-cotton onesies complete with recycled box. This treasure trove of conversation pieces is diverse, affordable and 100 percent guilt-free. For help navigating, check out the gift guides, where you can sort by price, recipient and recycled material. And take your time browsing the designer bios; you won't recognize these names at first, but you'll love knowing the backstory behind your new purchases.

Owned by jewelry designer Kim Gobbi, The Studio is the first shop in the North Shore to promote eco-friendly styles from indie designers. The boutique carries clothing, jewelry, handbags and shoes from a mix of well-favorites, including Foley + Corinna’s City Tote, Orla Kiely’s oilcloth bags, Prairie Underground’s ruched hoodie sweatshirts and Del Forte organic denim, as well as dresses by undiscovered talents like Modaspia out of San Francisco and Myth & Ritual out of NYC. You’ll also find one-of-a-kind leather bags by Vancouver-based Ashley Watson; summer shoes made in Brazil from recycled materials by Melissa; and walnut wedge sandals by Mohop, on which you can change the ribbons for a new look anytime you please. All of the jewelry at The Studio is handmade, including owner Gobbi’s own line, Jonesy’s Jewels (crafted on-site from vivid semiprecious gems and freshwater pearls), and necklaces by Vermont glass artist Caitlin Burch, who sandblasts glass beads to give them the look and feel of river stones. Some of the clothing and accessories is available online, and you can browse the blog for detailed photos and regular updates on what has recently arrived in-store.

Most of us run bone cold when it comes to doing laundry. While the act of renewing and caring for the pieces we've collected (and gone broke over) can yield a sense of calm and satisfaction, a majority of people dread it like quarterly taxes. Insisting that the right products can make any chore a pleasure, Lindsey Wieber and Gwen Whiting introduced The Laundress, their line of beautifully packaged specialty detergents and other laundry treatments. With four subtle and delicate fragrances (Baby, Lady, Classic and Cedar), these luxurious products wield an industrial-level strength over stains and yellowing, but don't destroy fabrics with petroleum or other artificial nastiness. The duo's eco-friendly recipes call upon renewable resources, plant extracts, enzymes and essential oils to do the dirty work only nature can do. Once you're hooked on the detergents, sample other products, like ironing water, Crease Release (so much better than turning on the shower to let your clothes steam out in the bathroom!) and baby fabric conditioner. Grab a box of must-have portable stain pacquettes, and for removing pills, the sweater stone sure does the trick better than a drugstore razor! Visit the website to explore the materials, concept and complete collection, and get laundering tips from the pros.

Bustling Wash-West was originally planned out by William Penn to be conveniently walkable and accessible to all-and his vision endures. From its beautiful namesake park to neighboring historical sites including 18th century residences, there is plenty to do and see here-and the extensive shopping scene is not too shabby, either!

Mor means "peacock" in Hindi (and is also the last name of one of this company's founders). But we thought it meant "More! More! More!"- which is exactly what we'd like from this deliciously lavish bath and body line from Dianna Burmas and Deon St. Mor, two Australian-based entrepreneurs with a flair for a well-lived and exotic life and a desire to pamper the body and senses. The Mor website is an inspirational journey through the brand's various product lines, each one distinguished by gorgeous packaging and heavenly (and often sugary) scents. Click on the "Shopping" link, however, and you'll shoot off to a straightforward e-commerce site, where you can search (by product or scent), write product reviews, view specials and best sellers, and, of course, shop. Of the multiple lines, we are partial to Provincial, a veritable orchard of scents (fig and olive, pomegranate, peach) in jewel-colored candle boxes, bath-oil bottles and canisters filled with body balm. We also love the original Dolce line in pastel-colored packaging and sweet but not cloying flavors like marshmallow and sorbet.

Laid back, boho Silver Lake's got every ounce of style of its Hollywood neighbors - but the trendsetting neighborhood is not one for posing and posturing. Instead, the fashion here veers toward the cool, indie and edgy - just perfect for the community of musicians, artists and other up-and-comers that are known for setting trends, but never trying too hard.

Portland-based Greenloop has one goal: to dress you head to toe in stylish clothes and accessories made by conscientious companies. Organic, sustainable and recycled fashions are the site's mainstays, but these aren't the oatmeal-colored hemp shorts of yesteryear: chic dresses and jeans from savvy brands like Edun, Loomstate and EcoSkin have mainstream appeal, and prices are reasonable. Greenloop is notable too for the breadth of its product offerings. Everything from handbags to shoes to a wristwatch made from old footballs can be found, making it a one-stop shop for guilt-free dressing. Greenloop is truly committed to the cause; the company donates at least 1% from each purchase to environmental charities.

Step into Boston's North End and enjoy the old world charm of a hemisphere hundreds of miles away. Historic houses and bustling Italian restaurants line the narrow, winding streets (watch out for cobblestones), while the aromas of Capuccinos and freshly baked cannolis tempt from cafes. Boston's own Little Italy hasn't changed much over the years, but a smattering of chic shops have been popping up here and there-from the cutting edge Casa di Stile to denim mainstay In-Jean-ius. You just have to know where to look.

We can tell when a webshop-owner uses her boutique as a means of creative expression; from the site design to the text and, of course, the selection, some e-boutiques sing out with fashion passion. Mischelle Papan's Blondette is one of these faboo finds. Clearly a lover of emerging designers (with a hawk's eye for celebrity style picks), Papan offers gals an online shop dedicated to the newest trend-setting lines of jewelry, clothes and other accessories, and sets forth plenty of info about the designers and the celebs wearing the work. With a focus on edgy trends from both coasts, Blondette freshens its cache of labels frequently, counting among its ranks boutique favorites like Geren Ford, Adina Designs, J. Brand denim, Grace Sun and Elizabeth & James. More street style than uber-glam, Blondette's selection represents the everyday chic captured in paparazzi photos of all our favorite starlets. In keeping with her enthusiasm for cutting-edge looks, Papan makes sure shoppers get what they need, inviting queries from any gal on a mission. A fashion-news feed, trend-watch list, extensive designer bios and deep discounts add to the site's already sparkling appeal.
